UBER Taxi and Limo Service Banned

Posted by on in Blog | 0 comments

UBER Taxi Driver Charged for Raping a 27 Years old Finance Executive in India. New Delhi (India) : The young executive who woke up to find the taxi in which she had dozed off  parked in a secluded spot did not know it at the time, but later would realize that she was barely 3 km from home when she was raped. The Uber driver (Shiv Kumar Yadav) now arrested, later dumped her on the road near her North Delhi neighborhood. She managed to take a picture of his license plate. Uber, which links customers to taxi drivers through an app, was banned yesterday in the city. A week before a young executive was raped allegedly by Uber cab driver Shiv Kumar Yadav in Delhi, the popular app-based taxi service had received a complaint about the same driver from a woman. Nidhi Shah had complained to Uber about Yadav who she alleged kept staring at her during the taxi ride on November 26. “The driver said before I got in that the GPS wasn’t working and I have to find him by walking through Chandni Chowk. Me and my partner got in but he kept staring through the mirror and I felt uncomfortable. I think he was smiling a little creepily also. Eventually, when he dropped us off, I thought I should report this to Uber. I had a bad feeling about him,” Ms Shah told NDTV from United States. “Uber replied though e-mail saying they will have a chat with the driver. But now I am blaming myself for what has happened. I feel like why I didn’t do something else about it?” she said. The 32-year-old Uber driver has, according to records, a disturbing pattern of assaulting women. In 2011, he spent seven months in a jail in Delhi for allegedly raping a woman who worked at a pub in Gurgaon. The police says he was acquitted in that case, but is unclear on how. Last year, a case of rape was registered against him in Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, which is Yadav’s home state. He was given bail in that case. On Sunday, he was arrested from his village in Uttar Pradesh on charges of raping a 27-year-old finance executive in South Delhi last week. He is now in jail. Getting to Billy Bishop Airport

Posted by on in Blog | 0 comments

Soon the travelers flying out of Billy Bishop Airport also known as Toronto Island Airport and Toronto City Airport will experience the new and easy access from the main land to the Island Airport. The walkway tunnel project which started in March 2012 is just around the corner of completion. The tunnel is expected to be operational by end of 2014 or beginning of 2015. The project is being carried out by Toronto Port Authority. Once operational the pedestrian tunnel will be equipped with four moving sidewalks traveling at 2.3 kilometers per hour. From a bank of six elevators on the mainland side, travelers will descend 100-feet to access the tunnel and travel along the passageway to escalators, which lead to the Airport’s check-in area. The complete journey will take less than six minutes, and will dramatically improve passenger flows. Billy Bishop airport is a favorite airport for many of the travelers due to its easy access and fight schedule connecting Toronto to major cities of Canada and United States. With this walkway under construction passengers do feel some inconvenience due to the limited access for  Limo/Taxi pickup and drop off at the mainland terminal but when the project is complete the comfort of flying out of Billy Bishop Airport will attract more and more passengers in the coming time. We would like to thank the Toronto Port Authority for this state of the art...

Well groomed at trained drivers are waiting for you and the know exactly what your plans are before you arrive. All drivers work a 8 to 10 hour shift so you know that you are in safe hands and the driver will take you to your destination safely. The drivers don’t have to drive fast to get back to the airport as they will not be heading to the taxi line up. These drivers are assigned pickups in advance and they have lots of time in between.   Getting or arranging a Taxi after you arrive: There are long line ups for taxis and you will need to wait in line for over 45 minutes at times in Cold weather during winter time and out in the heat in summer time. The line up is formed in the open area and there is no air conditioning or heating at the curb side. These taxis go by the meter and your fare will starts increasing if you are stuck on the highway due to traffic or weather conditions. Most of the taxi and limo drivers work over 18 hours of shift at a stretch so you might end up in a taxi where the driver is already exhausted and fatigued hence compromising on his performance which could be dangerous. If you are traveling short distance then you will find the driver speeding as he would like to come back to the airport in less than 30 minutes as he could be the first one in line for the next fare if he can make it back in that time.
